Here’s a nice small and FREE utility from Citrix that allows you to test connectivity to a remote host on a specified port. In the example below I test if port 5900 (used for VNC) is open and listening.

Any benefit over just telnetting to the port?
Hi Julius,
No, not wh3en you have the telnet command available, note that telnet by default is not enabled on Windows 7 clients, so when you are at a customer site and you can’t just enable telnet this might be a handy utility, but of course if telnet is there use it.
